14th Annual NAN National Convention [PHOTOS]
Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network convened in Washington, DC for NAN's annual national convention from April 11-14 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center featuring a who's who in politics, civil rights, education, business, the church, Corporate America and much more. The four day event honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and consists of a series of plenary sessions, panels and special events. The above photos highlight the first day of the convention, showing the Attorney General of the U.S. Eric Holder, Harvard University Professor Dr. Charles Ogletree, a criminal justice plenary, and a press conference with Trayvon Martin's family and their supporters. News of George Zimmerman being charged broke during the press conference with Sharpton and Trayvon's family returning later in the day to respond officially.
