Jay-Z and Beyoncé debuted Blue Ivy Carter to the world via 5 photos posted on Jay-Z's blog, Life + Times, and the newly created helloblueivycarter.tumblr.com with the message, "We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. The Carter Family." Two of the images can be seen below.
According to a Washington Post article, "The approach that Beyonce and Jay-Z have taken to these baby pictures is a unique one for such a high-profile celebrity couple. Rather than selling the photos to a publication, or doing a splashy magazine spread a la Brangelina and the twins, they have shared them quietly online, on Daddy’s Web site, in a manner that, presumably, is bringing them zero cash whatsoever. A classy way to go."
