QOTD: Is Natural the New Normal?

New research from Mintel shows that natural hair has become the “new normal” in Black hair care, as relaxers account for just 21% of Black hair care sales.  The study shows a decline in relaxer sales by 26% since 2008 and 15% since 2011—the only category not to see growth. The study also reveals a 36% increase among African- American women who decided to do away with hair chemicals.

According to Mintlel, 48% percent of women believe natural or curly hairstyles exude confidence and consider them daring. While, 45% of women think natural hair and styles are just trendy.
